The Marvin Millsap Headquarters Building was built at the Sigma Tau Gamma founding site in Warrensburg, Missouri. The Headquarters building was completely funded by alumni gifts. Brother Marvin Millsap, Central Missouri ’27, became the namesake of the building after generously donating 40% of the building fund. In the spring of 2018, the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters including the Fraternity, Foundation, and WPN Housing officially moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. The new Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters was open to the public on May 4, 2018.
Chief Executive Officer
Vanessa Ryan began serving as interim CEO and COO in July 2018. Ryan has nearly 20 years of higher education experience in student affairs, including facilities management, supervision, training, housing, and conference and event services. She previously served as Sigma Tau Gamma’s Director of Education and Standards from August 2016 – January 2017 and the Director of WPN Housing from January 2017 - June 2018. Prior to Sigma Tau Gamma, she served as the first Director of the Anderson Student Center at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and was involved with student affairs at Oakland University and Central Michigan University. Vanessa received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration from Central Michigan University.
In December 2016, Angela Sanders joined the HQ Staff as the Director of Finance & Human Resources. Sanders graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2006 with a Masters in Accounting, with an emphasis in Systems and Auditing. Her primary responsibility is to provide accurate and up to date financial information for the Fraternity, Foundation, and WPN Housing Company.
Angelita Shaffer joined the HQ Staff has the Accounts Receivable & Payable Coordinator in March 2018. Angelita was a Student Accounts Manager in the finance department at the Insititute for Study Abroad at Butler University for 10 years. In her role, she aided students to financially prepare for their study abroad experience. This included working through and completing budgets with the students, setting up payments plans, and advising students in choosing a cost-efficient study abroad program. She is responsible for the day-to-day receivable and payable transactions of the Fraternity, Foundation, and WPN Housing Company.
Adam Kowalski became a part of the HQ Team in September 2016 as the Director of Membership Engagement & Growth. Adam transitioned to become the Director of Collegiate Services in 2017 and later into his current role in 2018. As Director of Fraternity Operations, he oversees the collegiate experience, the Fraternity's recruitment and growth efforts, and works daily with our undergraduate members in the chapters. Adam attended Bowling Green State University where he graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and was initiated into Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. Upon graduation, Adam served for two years as the Coordinator of Chapter and Colony Development with Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity Headquarters. After leaving staff, he attended the University of South Florida and received his Master's Degree in College Student Administration.
Kassi joined the HQ staff in November 2016 as the Associate Director of Recruitment & Growth. In May, Ward transitioned to become the Associate Director of Collegiate Services. As Associate Director of Collegiate Services, she holds chapter coaching calls, helps handle chapter related issues, and helps associate chapters through the process of receiving their charter. Ward graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May of 2016 with undergraduate degrees in both Business Management and Organizational Psychology, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Additionally, she is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity.
Jose Contreras joined HQ Staff as a Recruitment and Growth Coordinator in November 2016. Contreras graduated from Pittsburg State University in May of 2015, majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. Jose is the main point of contact for all alumni associations, national volunteers for programming, and lead advisors for chapters. Before making the transition to Alumni Engagement Coordinator in December 2017, Jose helped establish and recruit brothers on campuses at Nevada - Reno, Robert Morris, and Nebraska. In June of 2018, Jose transitioned into his current role of Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement.
Ben Nelson serves as the Assistant Director of Education and Wellness for the Headquarters of Sigma Tau Gamma. Nelson graduated from Washington State University with a degree in sociology and a minor in psychology and was a member of the recently chartered Zeta Iota Chapter at Washington State. Ben helps ensure our national programs at Noble Man Institute, Webb Academy, and Endeavor Conference with curriculum, scheduling, and logistics. Before transitioning to his current position, Ben was a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator, recruiting men at Iowa State and Wayne State in Detroit. Future plans for Nelson are to pursue a Master's Degree in Higher Education.
Greg Ward started working on HQ Staff in June 2016 as the Associate Director of Communications before becoming the Director of Communications & SAGA Editor in December 2016. He graduated from the University of Alabama in May of 2016, double majoring in journalism and political science. He has written for eight different publications including magazines, newspapers, broadcast and online outlets. Greg is responsible for the new brand, SAGA Magazine, all program marketing materials and overseeing the communications department.
Jeremy joined HQ Staff as a Graphic Designer in May of 2016 before he became the Creative Director in December 2016. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. Jeremy is responsible for maintaining the latest design trends and confirming that all promotional materials created meet the current brand guidelines.
Brenna Albritton joined the headquarters staff in May 2017 as a Communications Intern and then became the SAGA Managing Editor. Brenna graduated from the University of Central Missouri in May 2018 with a degree in public relations and marketing. After graduation, Brenna transitioned into her current role as Digital Media Coordinator. In this role, her primary responsibilities include managing the national website, social media presence, and email communication.
Jill Carrel joined HQ staff in July 2016 as the Associate Director of WPN Housing before transitioning to become the Director of Foundation Operations. She attended Butler University in Indianapolis earning her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism where she was a sister of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. Carrel has more than a decade of experience in fundraising and event planning for various organizations.
Membership Engagement & Growth
Michael joined the HQ Staff in January 2018 as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator. Priolo graduated from Buffalo in May 2017 and is the first Epsilon Pi Chapter member to become a part of the HQ Staff. While an undergraduate, Priolo served as President of the Epsilon Pi Chapter.
Aaron joined the HQ Staff in June 2018 as a Recruitment and Growth Coordinator. Gottman graduated from Southern Indiana in December 2016 with a degree in Business Administration. While an undergraduate, Gottman served in many positions for the Gamma Phi Chapter including being on the Standards Board.
Alex joined the HQ Staff as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator in June 2018. As an undergraduate, Hart served the Beta Chi Chapter as Chapter President. He graduated from Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Sports Management.
WPN Housing & HQ Operations
Angel Gonzales joined the HQ staff as a Recruitment and Growth Coordinator in June 2016. Gonzales Graduated in May of 2016 from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. After completing several expansion projects, including Black Hills State, Henderson State and helping with Colorado State, Gonzales transitioned to his role of Associate Director of WPN Housing.
