REGISTRATION CLASSIFICATION
GRAND CONCLAVE PHOENIX – JUNE 28 – 30, 2018

DETERMINING IF YOU ARE A DELEGATE
Sig Taus of all ages attend Grand Conclave. Approximately half of all attendees are typically voting delegates, both alumni, and undergraduates. Those who are not voting delegates are non-officer undergraduates, alumni, lead advisors, chapter advisory board members, foundation and housing board members, non-members, spouses, children, and Conclave guests.

Your role at Grand Conclave, as well as your registration fee and schedule of activities, will vary depending upon your registration classification.

VOTING DELEGATES
Below are three classifications of Sig Taus who have voting privileges on the House of Delegates floor. They will vote on important legislative business, as well as the election of the Board of Directors. If you are a voting delegate, you will be expected to attend all House of Delegates sessions and participate in roll call at these sessions. You will have voting privileges if you are one of the of the following:

CHAPTER DELEGATE
Each collegiate chapter in good standing shall be entitled to representation by a number of delegates at the House of Delegates, which shall be determined by the following formula. Chapters having a total initiated college membership on April 15 of the school year of thirty-nine (39) or fewer members shall be entitled to two (2) delegates, and forty (40) or more members shall be entitled to three (3) delegates, provided that each of the said delegates shall be elected by and from the collegiate members of the collegiate chapter.

Chartered Chapters shall be entitled to their voting privileges pending that they meet the credentials as stated below. Associate Chapter Delegates do not have a vote but are still seated in the House of Delegates to participate in the conversation.

Proposed Alumni Association/Chapter Voting Credentials:

  1. The chapter is in Good Standing with Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters.
  2. Paid all 2017-18 national fees and dues by June 1.
  3. Must not have more than $500 in debt from previous academic years or must be on an approved repayment agreement with Headquarters having made at least two payments before the House of Delegates begins.
  4. Must be a Returning Undergraduate Student in the fall 2018 academic semester/quarter.

RECOGNIZED ALUMNI ASSOCIATION/CHAPTER DELEGATE
Each recognized Alumni Association/Chapter shall be entitled to appoint and send one delegate and one alternate delegate to represent itself at Grand Conclave at its member’s own expense. A member in good standing of an Alumni Association/Chapter may be seated as the delegate or alternate for the Alumni Association if the appointed delegate or alternate delegate fails to attend the Grand Conclave. Although the delegate and alternate delegate may attend, the Alumni Association/Chapter shall be permitted only one vote.

Recognized Alumni Associations/Chapter shall be entitled to the same voting privileges as an undergraduate delegate pending that they meet the credentials as stated below. Alumni Association/Chapter Delegates can vote on all matters other than on issues of undergraduate fees and dues.

Proposed Alumni Association/Chapter Voting Credentials:

  1. Paid Recognition Fee in 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years.
  2. Association/Chapter in Good Standing with Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters.
  3. Provide an Updated Membership Roster to Headquarters by June 1.

INDIVIDUAL DELEGATES
The following individuals are guaranteed to have a vote in the House of Delegates. No individual may exercise more than one vote. Like Recognized Alumni Associations/Chapters these individuals are entitled to the same voting privileges as an undergraduate delegate other than on issues of undergraduate fees and dues.

  1. All individuals currently serving on the Board of Directors
  2. Past National President
  3. Society of the Seventeen Members

NON-VOTING ALUMNI & UNDERGRAD ATTENDEES
Any number of additional undergraduate chapter members are welcome to attend Grand Conclave. Everyone will be asked to attend the Opening and Closing Session of the House of Delegates.

Lead Advisors, Chapter Advisory Board Members, Foundation Trustees, WPN Housing Board of Managers, and National Alumni Advisory Council members do not have voting privileges. However, they are welcome and encouraged to attend the House of Delegates sessions and will be introduced during Opening Ceremonies.

FAMILIES & GUESTS
Spouses and/or children often accompany alumni and officers of the Fraternity. You can easily register your family members or guests along with your convention registration on the mySigTau website.

Families and Guests are welcome to attend the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and all of the scheduled meals that are open to all Conclave attendees. There is no registration fee for children under the age of 12. However, there is a small fee for each of the family outing/excursions planned to take place during the weekend.
