AUSTIN, TEXAS – Sig Tau is now on three campuses, just in the state of Texas. On February 23, 16 men were associated into the re-installed Delta Gamma Associate Chapter at the University of Texas at Austin. These men are led by Chapter President, Donovan Perez, a sophomore studying public relations. The young men have large aspirations to change the culture of fraternity life on their campus. The Founding Father class ranges from freshman to junior members that are studying a variety of different majors.
For the newly reformed Delta Gamma Chapter, building their Brotherhood is a top priority as they begin to hold weekly brotherhood events and are incorporating bonding activities into their chapter meetings. The men are even starting to gear up for their first recruitment next fall. “Recruitment for next semester is something I know we’re all looking forward to. Sharing the values, the ideas, and encouraging other young men to join and become apart of this movement is something I think we all are hyped for,” Chapter President, Donovan Perez said.
Donovan, although only a sophomore, is ready to lead this new chapter. “Personally, I’m honored to take on the role of Chapter President and to lead this ambitious group of men through their associate membership and into their active phase in this Fraternity,” Donovan said. “Setting the precedent of exceptions and guidelines, for not only this year but for years to come, can be nerve-wracking, but I’m getting help from brilliant leaders within our chapter. I know there will be a lot of obstacles on the road ahead, for both myself and the chapter, in fulfilling the goal of chartering, but I’m blessed to have the group I do to lean on for support.”
