CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE PROPOSALS

Delegate Recommended Credentials 

1. The Chapter must be in good standing with Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters. 

2. The Chapter must have all reports on file and up to date with Headquarters by May 31, 2022. 

3. The Chapter must have paid all Grand Conclave registration fees by May 31, 2022. 

4. The Chapter, if failing to meet the May 31 finance deadline, must be on a Headquarters Staff approved repayment agreement by June 1, 2022 and have paid 50% of the June, 2022 payment by June 20, 2022, with the expectation that the remaining 50% is paid by July 1, 2022.

Proposed Alumni Association/Alumni Chapter Credentials

1. The Alumni Association/Chapter must have paid the 2021 – 2022 national fees by May 31, 2022. 

2. The Alumni Association/Chapter must be in good standing with Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters.

RITUAL COMMITTEE PROPOSAL

  • A petition to approve modifications to the Ritual of the Fraternity.

Proposal 22.01 – Ritual Approval

CONSTITUTION AND LAWS COMMITTEE PROPOSALS

  • A Resolution to grant authority to the Board of Directors to amend the Articles of Incorporation of the Fraternity to comply with IRS requirements.

Proposal 22.02 – Resolution Articles of Incorporation

  • Proposed amendments to the Constitution related to the relationship statement contained in the Constitution.

Proposal 22.03 – Relationship Statement

  • A proposed amendment to the Constitution to provide for conducting a virtual meeting of the House of Delegates in the event of a national emergency or disaster.

Proposal 22.04 – Emergency Virtual Meetings

  • Proposed amendments to the Constitution related to the conduct of the Ritual.

Proposal 22.05 – Ritual Clarification

  • Proposed Amendments to the Constitution to make a minor clarifying amendment, to correct errors in the Constitution, and a grant of authority to the Board of Directors to correct any typographical, grammatical, or other non-substantial errors in the Constitution and to re-number any sections as may be appropriate after the amendment process.

Proposal 22.06 – Constitution Technical Amendments

  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to allow future increases in the amount of the fine for chapters failing to send delegates to the Grand Conclave House of Delegates meeting to be set by resolution of the House of Delegates.

Proposal 22.07 – Grand Conclave Fines

  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to require chapter attendance at off-year meetings.

Proposal 22.08 – Off Year Meeting Attendance

  • The Constitution and Laws Committee hereby recommends that the House of Delegates adopt the attached updated Schedule of Fees for the Fraternity.
  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to consolidate all existing provisions related to Alumni Membership, except certain matters regarding fees and discipline, into Law III.

Proposal 22.10 – Consolidation of Alumni Provisions

  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to consolidate all existing provisions related to Chapter Housing into LAW IX.

Proposal 22.11 – Consolidation of Housing Provisions

  • A proposed revision to the Academic Standards Policy to clarify the academic standard for individual members of the Fraternity and chapter officers.

Proposal 22.12 – Academic Policy

  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to make changes to the chapter disciplinary procedures.

Proposal 22.13 – Chapter Disciplinary Procedures

  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to permit the Board of Directors to create special membership statuses for collegiate members who are away from school for an extended period of time.

Proposal 22.14 – Special Membership Status

  • Proposed amendments to the Laws related to affiliate groups.

Proposal 22.15 – Affiliate groups

  • A proposed amendment to the Laws to make changes to the Board of Directors Officer Elections.

Proposal 22.16 – Board Officers

  • Proposed Amendments to the Laws to make minor amendments, to correct errors in the Laws, and a grant of authority to the Board of Directors to correct any typographical, grammatical, or other non-substantial errors in the Laws and to re-number any sections as may be appropriate after the amendment process.
