Webb Academy Through the Ages
Thirty-five years ago, Sigma Tau Gamma became the first national Fraternity to hold a conference specifically for chapter presidents. What began as a “boot camp” for presidents has now flourished into a national leadership program for multiple chapter officers; annually bringing together over 300 Sig Taus from around the country.
The program is named in honor of Earl A. Webb, Central Missouri, for his commitment to our Fraternity and his desire to see each officer properly prepared to take on their respective roles. Webb was elected National President at the 30th Anniversary Grand Conclave in 1950. A dedicated lifelong member of Sigma Tau Gamma, he gave more than 60 years of leadership and service to the Fraternity. His noble character inspired his nickname “Mr. Sig Tau”. Earl Webb entered Chapter Eternal on December 31, 2009.
The program may have begun 35 years ago, but the legacy of Mr. Sig Tau lives on today and continues to thrive. Take a look below at Webb Academy Through the Ages.

Today, The Earl A. Webb Academy of Principled Leaders, colloquially referred to as Webb Academy, is an annual program held in January designed to bring together four Executive Cabinet members and Alumni Advisors from each chapter and associate chapter. Webb Academy provides a three-day program dedicated to creating the time and space to become more effective leaders, develop personal and officer goals and design a framework for chapter success.
