In the spring of 2018, the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters including the Fraternity, Foundation, and WPN Housing Company officially moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. The new Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters was open to the public on May 4, 2018. Before relocating to Indianapolis, The Marvin Millsap Headquarters Building was built at the Sigma Tau Gamma founding site in Warrensburg, Missouri. The Headquarters building was completely funded by alumni gifts. Brother Marvin Millsap, Central Missouri ’27, became the namesake of the building after generously donating 40% of the building fund.
Chief Executive Officer
Vanessa Ryan began serving as interim CEO and COO in July 2018 before being named CEO in January 2019. Ryan has nearly 20 years of higher education experience in student affairs, including facilities management, supervision, training, housing, and conference and event services. She previously served as Sigma Tau Gamma’s Director of Education and Standards from August 2016 – January 2017 and the Director of WPN Housing from January 2017 - June 2018. Prior to Sigma Tau Gamma, she served as the first Director of the Anderson Student Center at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and was involved with student affairs at Oakland University and Central Michigan University. Vanessa received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master of Arts Degree in Education Administration from Central Michigan University.
In December 2016, Angela Sanders joined the HQ Staff as the Director of Finance & Human Resources. Sanders graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2006 with a Master of Arts Degree in Accountancy, with an emphasis in Systems and Auditing. Her primary responsibility is to provide accurate and up to date financial information for the Fraternity, Foundation, and WPN Housing Company.
In March 2019, Raymond Guttendorf joined the HQ team as Finance Coordinator. Guttendorf graduated from Eastern Illinois University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. In his role as Finance Coordinator, his primary responsibilities will include managing accounts receivable and payable and operations within the Finance Department.
Lindsay joined the HQ Team in April 2019 as a part-time Administrative Assistant. Her responsibilities include providing administrative support for the Fraternity, Housing Company, and Foundation. She serves as the first point of contact at Headquarters. Lindsay has worked in on the business side of healthcare and in procurement in the parking technology industry. She has an Associate Degree in Health Care Business Serves and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Care Administration.
Adam Kowalski became a part of the HQ Team in September 2016 as the Director of Membership Engagement & Growth. Adam transitioned to become the Director of Collegiate Services in 2017 and later into his current role in 2018. As Director of Fraternity Operations, he oversees the collegiate experience, the Fraternity's recruitment and growth efforts, and works daily with our undergraduate members in the chapters. Adam attended Bowling Green State University where he graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and was initiated into Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. He attended the University of South Florida and received his Master of Arts Degree in College Student Administration.
Kassi joined the HQ staff in November 2016 as the Associate Director of Recruitment & Growth. In May 2017, Ward transitioned to become the Associate Director of Collegiate Services. As Associate Director of Collegiate Services, she holds chapter coaching calls, helps handle chapter related issues, and helps associate chapters through the process of receiving their charter. Ward graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May of 2016 with undergraduate degrees in both Business Management and Organizational Psychology, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, she is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity.
Ben Nelson joined the HQ Staff in May 2017 as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator, leading expansion efforts at Iowa State University and Wayne State University. In January 2018, he transitioned to the role of Leadership Development Coordinator before being promoted in June 2018 to his current role of Assistant Director of Education & Wellness. Ben’s primary responsibilities include the development and coordination of all national member education and leadership development programs, as well as coaching chapters and associate chapters as a member of the Fraternity Operations team. Ben graduated in May 2017 from Washington State University with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. He was a founding member of the Zeta Iota Chapter at Washington State.
Alex joined the HQ Staff as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator in June 2018. As an undergraduate, Hart served the Beta Chi Chapter as Chapter President and is a 2018 inductee of the Noble Man Hall of Fame. He graduated from Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in Sports Management. As a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator, Alex has helped recruit and start chapters at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Maryland, and the University of Kansas. In the fall of 2019, Alex transitioned to his current role of Collegiate Services Coordinator.
Angel Gonzales first joined the HQ staff as a Recruitment and Growth Coordinator in June 2016. Gonzales Graduated in May of 2016 from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication. After completing several expansion projects, including Black Hills State, Henderson State and helping with Colorado State, in May of 2017, Gonzales transitioned to the role of Associate Director of WPN Housing Operations. In January of 2020, Angel transitioned back to the Fraternity Operations team and currently serves as the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement.
Greg Ward started working on HQ Staff in June 2016 as the Associate Director of Communications before becoming the Director of Communications & SAGA Editor in December 2016. He graduated from the University of Alabama in May of 2016, double majoring in journalism and political science. He has written for nine different publications including magazines, newspapers, broadcast and online outlets. Greg is responsible for the Sig Tau brand, SAGA Magazine, all program marketing materials and overseeing the communications department.
Jeremy joined HQ Staff as a Graphic Designer in May of 2016 before he became the Creative Director in December 2016. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. Jeremy is responsible for maintaining the latest design trends and confirming that all promotional materials created meet the current brand guidelines and standards of Sigma Tau Gamma.
Brenna Albritton joined the headquarters staff in May 2017 as a Communications Intern. Brenna graduated from the University of Central Missouri in May 2018 with a degree in public relations and marketing. After graduation, Brenna joined the full-time staff as the Communications & Merchandise Coordinator. In April of 2020, Brenna moved into the role of Assistant Director of Communications where her primary responsibilities include Foundation communications; managing Sig Tau’s digital presence through the national website, social media, and email; Sigma Tau Gamma's historic archives; and managing the Sig Tau Marketplace.
Ashley joined HQ Staff in October of 2019 as the Director of Foundation Operations. Ashley has a wealth of experience in nonprofit communications, grant proposals, assessment, fundraising events, and campaigns. She is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing and a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. She is completing her Master of Science degree in Communication with a concentration in Strategic Communication & PR. Ashley also holds certifications in Nonprofit Executive Leadership and Strategic Communications Management.
Michael joined the HQ Staff in January 2018 as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator. Priolo graduated from SUNY Buffalo in May 2017 and is the first Epsilon Pi Chapter member to become a member of the HQ Staff. While an undergraduate, Priolo served as President of the Epsilon Pi Chapter. In his roles as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator, Michael lead the expansion projects at Texas Tech, Northeastern State, Wisconsin – Madison, and partnered on the expansions of Ohio State, Colorado – Boulder, and Maryland. In the fall of 2019, Michael transitioned into a new role of Major Gifts Officer. Michael is passionate about Sig Tau, dedicated to the growth of the Foundation, and experienced in relationship-building to move the organization forward.
Membership Engagement & Growth
Zack joined the HQ Staff as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator in January of 2020. As a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator, Zack's primary responsibilities include leading expansion projects and aiding chapters and associate chapters with recruitment while supporting Sig Tau’s continued growth. Zack graduated from UNC Charlotte in the fall of 2019 after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a Concentration in Public Advocacy and a minor in Southern Studies. As an undergraduate member of the Epsilon Tau Chapter, Zack served as Director of Recruitment for two consecutive years and previously served as both the recruitment and the ritual coordinator.
WPN Housing Operations
Kayla joined HQ Staff as the Director of WPN Housing Operations in July of 2018. Kayla received her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Food Management from Ball State University. In 2013, she earned her Master of Education Degree in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University. Kayla most recently served as the Property Manager for Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity Housing Corporation, where she oversaw 17 properties. Her past experiences include professional and graduate work at four different universities, serving as a University Housing professional at Ball State University, and an advisor for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
