Happy Halloween

Published on October 30, 2024 in News

Halloween is right around the corner! It’s time to carve some pumpkins, grab your favorite snacks, throw on a scary movie, and get serious about costume plans. But what’s the best direction? Should you go for something funny or cool? A hyper-realistic costume, or maybe something classic with a twist? Whatever you choose, remember you’re representing Sigma Tau Gamma, so let’s keep it respectful and in line with our values.

When choosing your costume, it’s not just about your intentions but how others might perceive them. Even with the best intentions, we all know a photo is worth a thousand words. So this year, be mindful of whether your costume is creative or potentially insensitive. If you’re questioning that line, it’s probably wise to consider another option. The world of imagination is your oyster, but the impact of your choices can lead to unintended outcomes.

If you’re hosting a Halloween party, remember you’re also responsible for the behaviors and costumes of your guests. Don’t allow anyone who may violate the standards you set for yourself and your chapter. Halloween is about fun, but not at the expense of others.

If your chapter faces any emergencies, remember to contact the appropriate authorities and immediately reach out to your headquarters liaison or the emergency line at 317-644-1920, then press 8.

Have a spooky, safe night, and enjoy responsibly!
