For the second consecutive year, Maddie Ramich has earned the John Leon Abrams Endowed Scholarship. This award is made possible by UW – Stout, Alpha Kappa Chapter Alumni. The scholarship was established in 2012 in memory of John Leon Abrams UW – Stout ’59, a 1962 graduate and Navy Pilot who was killed in Vietnam in 1968.

This scholarship is awarded to a full-time plastics engineering major with a 2.5 or higher GPA who demonstrated financial need, and who exhibits leadership in student activities.

“The financial assistance Sigma Tau Gamma Alpha Kappa Chapter Alumni have provided will be of great help to me paying my educational expenses at UW – Stout, and will allow me to continue to concentrate on studying and staying committed to the campus organizations I am associated with,” said Ramich.

Ramich is a senior at UW – Stout. She is majoring in plastics engineering and minoring in material science.  She desires to pursue a career in the field of plastics and injection modeling. Since first receiving the scholarship in 2016, Ramich has continued her studies and has gained experience through an internship.

Ramich noted, “I am committed to working very hard to pay this generosity forward in the community in the future by giving back my time, talents, and resources to support others in achieving their educational goals.”

“She is a fitting tribute to John’s memory,” said Bob Janeczko, Chairman of the Memorial Scholarship.
