INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – The rigorous selection process is complete. Ten gentlemen have been announced as the inductees for the 2018 Noble Man Hall of Fame. Becoming a member of the Noble Man Hall of Fame is not only one of the highest honors an undergraduate member can achieve, but additionally, each Hall of Fame member is now a finalist for Sigma Tau Gamma’s Ellsworth C. Dent Undergraduate Man of the Year. The honor also includes a significant scholarship from the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation. Each of these men will be honored as a Hall of Fame inductee this June at Grand Conclave Phoenix. Get to know each of the 2018 Noble Man Hall of Fame inductees by reading their bios below. Congratulations to all ten of these noble men!

Nathan Dickerson, Alabama

“Nathan is one who possesses not only a big heart but also leadership, excellence, and a sense of brotherhood.”

Initiated in 2014, Nathan has served in several positions for the Epsilon Phi Chapter including Historian, Director of Finance and Chapter President. Under his presidency, the Epsilon Phi Chapter re-wrote and approved a new chapter constitution and by-laws, created new scholarship opportunities and presided over a chapter of nearly 100 men. He was also involved in the University of Alabama Undergraduate Board of Governors, an elite committee created to rank over 80 student organizations across campus, and was Director of Crimson Change, an initiative that works with book publishing companies to help create free rental book programs for students. His philanthropic efforts have been notable, participating in the Honors College, BRIGHT Mentoring Program, Al’s Pals After School Mentoring Program and volunteering at the West Alabama Humane Society. Finally, Nathan has received the University of Alabama Foundation in Excellence Scholarship, is an Order of Omega Greek Honor Society inductee, and has won various chapter-based awards – all while maintaining a 3.45 GPA.

Slade Downing, Lindenwood Belleville

“He is outgoing. He is resilient. He is well respected. He is a Noble leader.”

Slade has held three positions for the recently chartered Zeta Nu Chapter including Director of Finance, Director of Member & Community Engagement, and ultimately Chapter President. During Slade’s presidency, the chapter achieved one of their largest accomplishments to date: becoming a chartered chapter. Slade has been extremely involved nationally with Sigma Tau Gamma, facilitating and volunteering at a number of programs. During the summer of 2016, Slade worked as a professional intern at Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters and supplied additional support for Grand Chapter. He was also very involved with Lindenwood-Belleville’s on-campus housing where he began as a resident assistant (RA), became a resident director and now holds a full-time position at Lindenwood University as an Area Coordinator. Slade was also very involved in the local community, accumulating over 75 hours of community service.

Rafael Follador Gabriel, Lindenwood Belleville

“Not only was he a Founding Father of the Zeta Nu Chapter, but also was the charging force to bring Fraternalism to campus.”

Rafael was a Founding Father of the Zeta Nu Chapter and was one of the first noble men to sign his bid and become a brother at Lindenwood Belleville. Rafael also served as the first-ever appointed President and first-ever elected President of the Zeta Nu Chapter. He is a chapter leader and a gentleman who helped pave the way for the chapter to receive their charter during the 2017 – 2018 academic school year. Rafael was heavily involved in the campus community, serving as a two-term Student Government Senator and then as Student Body President. He received many awards as a collegian, including the Fred and Barbara Kern Community Service Award, Student of the Month Honors, and a Certificate of Excellence in Division of Business and Entrepreneurship from Lindenwood Belleville.

Anthony Giazzon, Purdue

“It’s because of Anthony’s mentorship role in the chapter, his academic and professional success, and passion for Greek life that he makes a model Sig Tau brother.”

Initiated in 2014, Anthony has been influential in the continual recruitment success of the Beta Theta Chapter. Anthony has been a Recruitment Coordinator, a New Member Educator, and was a two-term Director of Recruitment. He implemented a new standard of training for members of the chapter recruitment team, ensured the new member education adhered to our Principles, and oversaw the transition into the new 60 man chapter facility. Anthony is also very involved in Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. He has held the positions of Vice President of Membership and President.  Anthony is studying to become a pharmacist, is a member of the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists, and has maintained a 3.62 GPA. He has been a recipient of the Barney and Ida Brayer Pharmacy Scholarship, Susan and Donald Barrick Pharmacy Scholarship, and was Brother of the Year, presented by the Purdue Interfraternity Council.

Alex Hart, Nebraska at Kearney

“Alex embodies the principles of Sig Tau and represents what it means to be a noble gentleman each day.”

Since his initiation, Alex has been influential in the success and growth of the Beta Chi Chapter. He has served as a Chapter Education Coordinator and also served as the Beta Chi Chapter President. Under his presidency, he guided development that betters the members and community through philanthropic events, community service projects, and personal leadership development. Alex also served his campus community as an Admissions Office Student Diplomat. He lead campus tours for students and parents and helped with day-to-day operations of the Admissions Office. He was also a University of Nebraska Kearney New Student Enrollment Leader. In this role, he helped new students enroll in classes and helped them become acclimated to campus life. Alex was also a volunteer at the local Kearney Animal Shelter and is a youth soccer coach for the Kearney Parks and Recreation.

Andrew McGuire, Southern Indiana

“Andrew demonstrated the proper balance of scholastics, campus leadership, community involvement, and Brotherhood.”

Andrew was initiated into the Gamma Phi Chapter at Southern Indiana in 2016. One short year after Andrew was initiated, he was voted Gamma Phi Vice President. As Vice President, he oversaw the chapter social media accounts, ensured sustainable faculty relationships, updated a chapter website, and filled in for the president as necessary. Andrew is also heavily involved in the campus community. He has served in multiple positions including being a Student Government Association Fraternity Representative, was Interfraternity Council Vice President of Recruitment & Expansion, and served as the Activites Programming Board President. As president, he increased membership by 21 percent and lead initiatives through the University of Southern Indiana’s 50th anniversary year. Andrew has done all of this while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Jared Palmer, Central Oklahoma

“I have never met another student that exemplifies leadership, citizenship, selflessness, and joy quite the way Mr. Palmer does.”

Jared has had a profound impact on the Beta Zeta Chapter. Serving in intramurals, as a New Member Educator, Vice President of Membership and finally Chapter President, Jared spear-headed many goals and plans for the chapter. He coordinated bi-weekly meetings with the campus interfraternity leaders, university faculty and staff, and ensured education stayed prominent for the chapter. Jared is a heavy community volunteer. He has served in several capacities with what is called the “Big Event” at Central Oklahoma – particularly those of Director of Sites and Executive Director. Jared was honored as the Central Oklahoma Fraternity and Sorority Life President of the year, Greek Man of the Year, and is an Order of Omega inductee.

Luke Palmer, Emporia State

“Luke is a natural leader and has been recognized by his peers and the faculty for his leadership accomplishments”

Luke joined the Delta Chapter in 2014 and has held numerous chapter and campus-based positions. He has been a New Member Educator, Scholarship Coordinator, and eventual Chapter President. As a new initiate, Luke quickly began to serve his chapter. He was Interfraternity Council Delegate in 2014, IFC Director of Finance and Communication and eventually IFC President. Luke was also a student government senator and treasurer. As treasurer, Luke was entrusted with operating a $300,000 annual budget and ensuring all reports and audits were run properly. Luke has earned Dean’s List honors multiple times, was a finalist for the Emporia State Campus Leadership Award and was student government staff member of the year in 2016. Luke has managed to be an effective leader, while double majoring in accounting and management information systems, maintaining a 3.5 PGA.

Dylan Rhodes, UNC Charlotte

“Dylan’s service to the UNC Charlotte campus and his Chapter is notable for leadership and resiliency.”

Dylan has been a very influential member of the Epsilon Tau Chapter at UNC Charlotte. He has served the chapter in several roles, including Director of Recruitment. As director, he helped ensure new member education, rituals, and brotherhood bonding were top priorities not just for the newest members, but for the entire chapter. He also recruited the largest spring and fall new member classes in the history of the chapter, almost doubling the chapter size. Interfraternally, Dylan served as Order of Omega Honor Society President and as Interfraternity Council  Vice President of Recruitment. He has been recognized as “Who’s Who Among Students at UNC Charlotte, as “Human of Leadership” by the UNC Charlotte Center for Leadership Development and he received the campus leadership award from the UNC Charlotte Dean of Students.

Adam Rhody, Purdue

“Adam’s attitude toward the brothers of Sig Tau is one of respect and admiration, which is most likely why he receives so much respect and admiration from the men in our organization.”

Adam has been a leader of the Beta Theta Chapter since becoming initiated. He has served as Philanthropy Coordinator, New Member Educator, and Director of Member & Community Engagement. As Director of Member & Community Engagement, he managed the second annual Glow Run 5k and oversaw all brotherhood, social,  and community service events for the Beta Theta Chapter. Adam’s most recent position is serving on the Beta Theta Standards Board, where he has been a role model to younger Standards Board Members. He is also a Lead Supervisor for the Purdue Recreation and Wellness Center. Adam oversees a 34,000 square foot turf facility and serves as a mentor for the 15-20 employees working in the facility.
