INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters announces that Director of Communications & SAGA Editor Greg Ward, Alabama, is departing staff.

Greg joined the HQ Staff in 2016 as Associate Director of Communications before being promoted to Director & SAGA Editor in 2017.

Greg has been an integral part of the HQ Staff, helping shape what Sigma Tau Gamma looks like today. He helped unveil the new Sig Tau brand, oversaw the re-envisioning of the SAGA Magazine, and launched sigtau.org.

Greg has marketed Sig Tau’s national conferences, including Noble Man Institute, Webb Academy, Endeavor Conference, Grand Conclave, and the Centennial. He also managed communication for the Decommissioning Ceremony of the Marvin Millsap Headquarters Building at 101 Ming Street in Warrensburg, MO, to the Ribbon Cutting at Sig Tau Headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.

Additionally, he received national recognition for helping Sig Tau win ten awards from the Fraternity Communications Association since 2017 and has co-managed multiple fundraising campaigns, in total, that have raised more than $785,000.

Chief Executive Officer Buz Barlow, UW – Oshkosh, says Greg’s impact is evident in every aspect of the Fraternity.

“Greg Ward is one of those rare Brothers who have a pervasive influence on virtually every aspect of the tapestry that is Sigma Tau Gamma. Greg has a deep love for our Fraternity, and as Director of the Communications Department, it has been reflected through his commitment to a refreshed brand identity, a leading-edge social media presence, an attention-grabbing SAGA, and enhanced national meeting experiences. Among our professional staff, he is respected for his attention to detail, thoughtful consideration of topics under discussion, and a fierce adherence to deadlines. Greg’s professionalism and devotion to Sig Tau will remain a lasting legacy for all who follow.”

Creative Director Jeremy Harrington, Central Missouri, has worked side by side with Greg since 2016. “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Greg. His knowledge and leadership have helped shape the Sig Tau brand of today. I’m excited to see where life takes him as a brother and friend.”

Greg said he was grateful when asked to summarize his experience on the Sig Tau Staff.

“What started with me signing my bid to become a charter member of the Epsilon Phi Chapter in 2013 has blossomed into more than I could ever imagine. So many people have trusted me to help Sig Tau endeavor forward – and I hope I’ve done just that. I’m incredibly proud of what this organization has accomplished over the last seven years, and to say I have had a small hand in doing that makes me eternally grateful.”

Greg has accepted a role as Senior Brand Strategist at Alabama Power Company, located in Birmingham, AL.

Greg’s last day is May 23, 2023.
