Sig Tau is back at Northeastern State University

TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA – When word got around that Sig Tau was returning to Northeastern State University in the fall of 2018, Riverhawk Nation was ready to join the ranks of the other 86 chapters of Noble Men. The Zeta Chapter was originally established in 1924 as the sixth chapter in Sig Tau history. On November 9, 2018, the Zeta Associate Chapter was officially reinstalled and established once more.

This fall, 31 men invested in themselves and their future brotherhood and were initiated as Refounding Fathers.  These men are highly-involved students studying a wide variety of majors including media studies, accounting, and cellular molecular biology. Outside of the classroom, many of the Sig Taus are student ambassadors and are involved in the campus ministry and intramurals.

“Being new on campus means all eyes on you. It feels like we are having to prove ourselves again and again, but I couldn’t pick a better group of guys to do it with! Knowing I am a part of a bigger picture is very humbling. Seeing our older alumni from the 60s and 70s and knowing I have a connection to them now is an awesome feeling,” Director of Community Engagement, Nick Pitre said. “I am looking forward to being able to better our community. With 30 other top notch guys, the possibilities are endless. I am excited that we have the opportunity to support the Special Olympics on such a large level. I’ve been on the Oklahoma Special Olympics games committee for the past seven years and it has helped me grow as a person tremendously. Knowing that my organization supports the same morals I do on a national level is unreal!”

The Zeta Associate Chapter is now the sixth active chapter in the State of Oklahoma.
