On Monday, February 18th, Sigma Tau Gamma will expand to Oklahoma State University. Sig Tau has never previously had a chapter at Oklahoma State University.

This is a very exciting expansion opportunity for Sig Tau,” says Michael Smoll, Sigma Tau Gamma’s Director of Expansion. “The Oklahoma State University fraternity and sorority community is a nationally recognized award winning community with very high standards.

Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, has more than 23,000 students. Oklahoma State University, home of the Cowboys, is a NCAA Division I school in athletics and competes in the Big 12 Conference. There are currently 22 active fraternities in the Interfraternity Council and 12 active sororities in the Panhellenic Council.

Expansion counselor Derek Kaimann joined Smoll for the pre-site visit this past October. During their pre-site visit, Kaimann and Smoll met with Greek Life staff, fraternity and sorority leaders, and toured the camps. Kaimann and expansion counselor Paul Manly are returning to the campus on February 18th to lead on-campus recruitment efforts and establish a provisional chapter.

Sigma Tau Gamma has had a long history in the state of Oklahoma which began with the chartering of the Zeta Chapter at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah in 1924. There are currently four active collegiate chapters in Oklahoma and many alumni living across the state.
