2023 Noble Man Hall of Fame

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Sigma Tau Gamma proudly announces ten gentlemen as inductees into the 2023 Noble Man Hall of Fame. Each Hall of Fame member is now a finalist for the Ellsworth C. Dent Man of the Year – one of the highest honors an undergraduate brother can achieve.

Get to know each of the 2023 Noble Man Hall of Fame inductees. Congratulations to all 10 of these noble men!

 George Ashmore, Robert Morris

“George’s charisma and commitment to Sigma Tau Gamma are evident in the way he conducts himself, how he gives freely and without reservation, and the way that he treats others.”

Initiated into the Delta Psi Chapter at Robert Morris University in 2019, George was a re-founding father and has been an integral part of the chapter’s success, including serving as an officer when the chapter received its charter. George served as a two-term Delta Psi Chapter President and has also served as a Noble Man Institute facilitator multiple times. He was Order of Omega President at Robert Morris and Vice President of Finance for Enactus, an entrepreneur club on campus. He has done all this while maintaining a 3.56-grade point average (GPA) in accounting.

Wesley Beene, Central Arkansas

“Wesley is extremely intelligent, always prepared, and willing to participate in any class discussion.

Wesley has been committed to leadership at the University of Central Arkansas his entire undergraduate career. Joining the Sigma Chapter in 2020, he has served on multiple committees and has served in two executive positions on the local Interfraternity Council (IFC), as Vice President of Health and Inclusion, and most recently, as IFC President. He has received multiple scholarships, including the prestigious UCA Academic Excellence Scholarship. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in accounting and finance.

Alex Clark, Southern Indiana

“Alex Clark represents the Principles of Sigma Tau Gamma every day. I am proud to submit him for consideration for this high honor.”

Alex was initiated into the Gamma Phi Chapter at the University of Southern Indiana in 2019 and has served in multiple chapter roles, including Director of Community Engagement. While serving in this role, a chapter record was broken for philanthropic dollars raised for Special Olympics. He has also served his campus community as an SIUE Welcome Week Leader and Campus Orientation Leader. Alex has a passion for giving back to young aspiring athletes and has been a coach for a youth basketball team and the Henderson Flash Baseball Team Analytics Intern.

Mattson Gates, UNC Charlotte

“Brothers listen intently for his opinion and views, and Mattson continues to be a mentor and an example for new members that have recently been initiated as brothers.”

Mattson was initiated into the Epsilon Tau Chapter at UNC Charlotte in 2019 and has put the chapter first for the last four years. Shortly after initiation, he was appointed Recruitment Chair and elected as Epsilon Tau Chapter Director of Recruitment the following year. Mattson has been very involved in the city of Charlotte, participating in the Highlands-Cashiers COVID-19 initiative, the Fishes and Loaves grocery distribution, and Shining Hope Farms. This nonprofit organization uses equine therapy to aid children with disabilities. After graduation, Mattson plans to attend medical school.

Turner Howk, Northeastern State

“Turner has an uncanny ability to see the big picture and ferret out every element necessary to create the proper environment.”

Initiated into the Zeta Chapter at Northeastern State University in 2019, Turner has served and led the chapter and university in multiple positions. Boasting a 4.0 GPA, he was selected as Outstanding Freshman (one of ten chosen from the entire first-year class), Outstanding Senior (one of ten selected from the entire senior class), and was Top Greek Man in 2021. Turner also served as Riverhawk Ambassador and was a student government association senator. He served the chapter in multiple positions, including as two-term Zeta Chapter Director of Recruitment and Chapter President. He also had over 200 hours of community service as an undergraduate student.

Jared Jess, SIU Edwardsville

“One of the things I value most about Jared is his attention to detail and commitment to accomplishing the goal. I can also count on him to follow through on what he promises and coach others to accomplish their goals as well.”

Immediately upon initiation, Jared began to serve the Epsilon Sigma Chapter at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. In three consecutive years, he served as Director of Member & Community Engagement, Vice President, and ultimately President. Jared also served as a student government association senator and a research assistant in the physics department. A mechatronics and robotics engineering major, his ultimate career goal is to become an astronaut for NASA.

Kyzer Johnston, Central Arkansas

“With his strong set of life ethics, he chose Sigma Tau Gamma as the place to hone those skills as he progressed into manhood.”

Initiated into the Sigma Chapter at Central Arkansas in 2020, Kyzer had a roadmap for what he wanted out of his undergraduate experience. He is an accounting major with a 3.7 GPA and has served as Sigma Chapter Director of Finance and Vice President. He has made the Central Arkansas Dean’s List multiple times and is also a presidential scholar. Kyzer has also spent his undergraduate years serving the Ellen Smith Elementary School, the St. James United Methodist Church, and the Arkansas Food Pantry. After graduation, Kyzer plans to pursue a law degree to practice corporate law

Jack McMillen, Emporia State

“Jack exemplifies our six Principles. He acknowledges the significance of each and does a great job at demonstrating to make sure the active chapter understands that significance.”

Serving in three-chapter positions in three consecutive years, Jack has been a leader of the Delta Chapter at Emporia State University since 2019. His first position was chapter secretary, taking over shortly after his initiation, then he was elected to the Director of Education & Wellness and finally as Delta Chapter President. Jack not only gave his time to the chapter but to the greater Greek community as well. He served the local IFC as Vice President of Finance and Administration and was honored to be the IFC Man of Excellence Award recipient. He was inducted into the Blue Key Honor Society, one of the most prestigious honor societies on campus at Emporia State.

Clay Miller, Youngstown State

“Clay’s involvement and dedication to the Fraternity and his community has not ended since his time off the Sigma Tau Gamma Executive Cabinet. Clay continues to balance being an aspiring teacher with his service to the greater Fraternity.”

Initiated in 2019, Clay has served in multiple positions, including Beta Gamma Chapter President, Standards Board, and the Director of Member & Community Engagement. Additionally, he has served on the local IFC as Vice President of Member Development, Council President, Order of Omega Vice President, and Residential Housing Association President. Clay has also given over 100 community service hours and maintained a 3.95 GPA. Clay’s goal after graduation is to become a teacher and begin his career in education.

Jake Owczarzak, UNC Charlotte

“It is not often that you find a leader that exemplifies the Principles of Sigma Tau Gamma in his life. I believe that Jake does this and will continue to do this throughout his life.”

Since his initiation in 2019, Jake has advocated for the fraternity experience. He served as a two-term Academic Coordinator for the Epsilon Tau Chapter at UNC Charlotte before being elected Chapter President in 2022. He was inducted into the Order of Omega, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and is a UNC Charlotte Leadership Fellow. During his undergraduate career, he has volunteered for Shining Hope Farms, Habitat for Humanity, the Miracle League, and Catherine’s House. After graduation, Jake wants to pursue his master’s degree in athletic training.
