INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement Jose Contreras, Pittsburg State departed from the Fraternity Staff on January 4.

Contreras joined the HQ Staff in December 2016. He began his role as a Recruitment & Growth Coordinator and was responsible for restarting the Delta Psi Associate Chapter at Robert Morris University, starting the Zeta Upsilon Associate Chapter at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, the Zeta Omega Associate Chapter at The Ohio State University and the recently chartered Zeta Lambda Chapter at Nevada Reno. The following summer, Contreras transitioned to Alumni Engagement Coordinator and was promoted to Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement in the summer of 2018.

During his two-year tenure, Contreras was, directly and indirectly, responsible for the Fraternity growing the National Alumni Advisory Council, adding new and re-engaging chapter and lead advisors, coaching associate chapters through their growth process and added many noble men we now call brothers through his recruitment efforts.

“Jose served in vital roles for Sigma Tau Gamma and is a committed brother and member of the organization.” said Interim Chief Executive Officer Vanessa Ryan. “Jose not only created the opportunity for more young men to join Sig Tau, but during his time working with alumni, he also created the opportunity to have more alumni re-connect. His ambition and team-first mentality will be missed around Founders Road.”

“Working and growing through Sig Tau has been an amazing experience. The opportunity to cultivate relationships through the fraternal bond will carry with me even after working on staff.” Contreras said.

Contreras looks forward to his continued involvement as a member, Foundation donor, and future advisor and volunteer.
