Ryan Joins staff as new Director, Carrel as Associate Director
Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters has the pleasure of adding a new director and associate director.
Vanessa Ryan: Director of Education and Standards
Vanessa Ryan is our new Director of Education and Standards. This is the first time we have had this role at headquarters. After receiving her undergraduate degree and becoming a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, she graduated from Central Michigan University with a Masters of Arts Degree in Education Administration. Vanessa has over 14 years of higher education experience in supervision, training, conference and event planning. Ryan spent the past five years as Director of the Anderson Student Center at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, MN. Before joining the staff at St. Thomas in, she was involved with student affairs at Oakland University and Central Michigan. What she looks forward to the most about working with Sigma Tau Gamma is continuing to impact undergraduate students.
“It is my privilege to join the staff of Sigma Tau Gamma and to work with exceptional undergraduate students as they impact the fraternity on a local and national level.” Ryan said.
Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Tau Gamma Steve Latour is excited to have her contributions.
Vanessa brings two decades of higher education experience to the team. Having worked in university services, facilities and residence and student life, she will be a tremendous asset to the team,” Latour said. “She is the ideal person to serve as Director of Education and Standards.

Jill Carrel:Â Associate Director of WPN Housing
Jill Carrel has been hired as the Associate Director of WPN Housing. This is the first staff member for the WPN Housing Company. She attended Butler University in Indianapolis earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism where she was a sister of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. Carrel has more than a decade of experience in fundraising and event planning for various organizations. Before coming to staff, she was a Leadership Development Consultant for Pi Beta Phi, Stewardship Coordinator with Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, Rhyme and Reason Design Account Executive and most recently at Marian University as the Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Relations. Carrel is ready to join the staff and knows how important housing can be.
I am excited to join the professional staff at Sigma Tau Gamma. I feel the collegiate housing experience plays a huge factor in member satisfaction and lifelong commitment to the organization,” Carrel said. “I look forward to strengthening WPN Housing through enhancing housing operations, development and acquisition of new housing facilities and expanding support of collegiate housing corporations.
