A Noble Man’s Guide to Halloween Fun

Published on October 28, 2025 in News

With Halloween right around the corner, it’s that time of year again to plan how your chapter will celebrate! As a Sig Tau and Noble Man, you carry the responsibility of representing yourself and your chapter with pride—on and off campus. While you enjoy the spooky season, keep these tips in mind to make it a night to remember (for all the right reasons).

Brotherhood Over Everything

Always have your brothers’ backs. If someone ends up in an unsafe situation, step up and help them out. And if a brother’s costume might reflect poorly on him or the chapter have a respectful conversation and encourage better choices. Looking out for one another is what brotherhood is all about.

Smarter Social Hosting

If your chapter hosts an event, do it the right way. Follow all recommended safety protocols, keep a clear guest list, and ensure sober monitors are present and attentive. Hosting responsibly not only protects your brothers and guests it protects the chapter’s reputation.

Costume Smart, Costume Safe

Halloween is the perfect time for creativity and self-expression but remember that what you wear says something about you. Skip offensive or culturally insensitive costumes and opt for something clever, funny, or unique instead. A Noble Man leads by example.

Getting Home Safe

Plan transportation ahead of time so everyone gets home safely. Post signs with rideshare numbers or designated driver contacts at your event. It’s one of the simplest ways to ensure the night ends on a good note.

Respecting Guests and Boundaries

Respect and consent are core to being a Noble Man. At events where costumes, masks, and alcohol are involved, clear communication is key. Always check in, respect boundaries, and remember that every guest deserves to feel comfortable and safe.

Keeping the House Safe

Protect your chapter house and the people in it. Define which areas are open to guests and which are off-limits, and have monitors stationed throughout to keep things under control. Make sure all decorations are fire-safe and compliant with campus and housing policies. A well-planned setup keeps the night fun and incident-free.

Spooky Season with Purpose

Halloween doesn’t have to be all flash events. Consider alternative outings for brothers who want something different—like pumpkin carving, volunteering at a local fall festival, or hosting a costume or pumpkin drive for families in your community. Giving back can be just as rewarding as going out.

Celebrate Responsibly

Halloween should be a night of fun, laughter, and brotherhood. Make sure everyone’s on the same page, plans are in place, and safety comes first. Remember how your guests behave reflects on your chapter, too. By ensuring everyone is respectful, appropriately dressed, and following policies, you’ll make it a Halloween your brothers won’t want to forget.

Be Smart. Be Safe. Be Noble. Happy Halloween, Sig Taus!
