On Saturday December 1, Sigma Tau Gamma conducted the Ceremony of Installation at Auburn University. The Auburn University provisional chapter welcomed over 100 friends, family members, and many Sigma Tau Gamma brothers who traveled from Tuscaloosa, New Orleans, and Houston. This is the first time Sigma Tau Gamma has had a provisional chapter at Auburn University.

Director of Expansion Michael Smoll and Expansion Counselors Paul Manly and Derek Kaimann visited Auburn University during the summer months to prepare for the fall expansion efforts. During their visit they met with the Auburn University Greek Life Staff and members of the fraternity and sorority community.  Manly and Kaimann then returned in October and began the on campus recruitment efforts.

Manly and Kaimann’s recruitment efforts attracted many high performing students including, 1 Valedictorian, 3 Salutatorians, 42 National Honor Society members, 8 Eagle Scouts, 11 SGA Presidents, 26 Varsity Captains, and 18 club Presidents.

The Ceremony of Installation was lead by the Installation Team, Tom Morgan, Paul Manly, and Derek Kaimann. During the ceremony, 37th National President Tom Morgan, spoke to the men about lifetime friendships and emphasized the importance of understanding that our Founders did not haze. After the Ceremony of Installation the men gathered for a brotherhood activity and watched the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Football Championship Game.

Following the conclusion of the brotherhood activity, the 63 Founding Fathers gathered on the Auburn University campus for the Ritual of Initiation. The Ritual team was lead by Morgan, Manly, Kaimann, Southern Region Vice President Drew Allen, and eight members of the University of Alabama Provisional Chapter.

The men are excited to be part of the Auburn University fraternity and sorority community and have already begun working towards chartering next fall.
