bernierportraitCHICAGO – On Saturday, November 1, more than a dozen brothers in the Chicago area gathered along with National President Alyx Parker, Illinois ’97, Foundation Chairman Tom Janicki, Carnegie Mellon ’74, and the Fraternity’s Board of Directors to present Bill Bernier, Kent State ’71, with his official portrait. The portrait was commissioned by the Fraternity’s Board of Directors and will be displayed at the Marvin Millsap Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters in Warrensburg, Mo.

Bill’s portrait will soon take its rightful place on the wall at Headquarters among the Fraternity’s most dedicated alumni including Earl Webb, Emmett Ellis and Marvin Millsap to name a few. Presenting him with a portrait is such a fitting tribute. It will be a constant reminder to staff and visiting members of his commitment and impact on Sigma Tau Gamma, said Steve Latour, Chief Executive Officer Designate.

Bernier will retire as the Chief Executive Officer on December 31 after having served 41 years in the role. He is the longest serving executive of any fraternity or sorority executive in the history of social Greek organizations. Latour will officially take over as CEO on January 1.
