2012 Ellsworth C. Dent “Man of the Year” Finalists Announced
Josh Argast, Alpha Phi ’12 (Southeast Missouri State University). Josh graduated this past May with a degree in construction management and an overall 3.92 GPA. He served as chapter president, alumni relations and homecoming chairman for his chapter. Josh stays active on the Southeast Missouri State University campus as a student leader in the Student Government Association, Homecoming Planning Committee and is the student representative to the University Foundation Board of Directors. Brother Argust recently accepted a position as an Associate Facilities Specialist for Ameren Corporation in St. Louis, Mo.
Nate Dixon, Beta Iota ’12 (California University of Pennsylvania). Nate graduated this past May with a degree in public relations. He served as one of the Founding Fathers, chapter president, executive vice president, and chairman of philanthropy, brotherhood, alumni relations, community service, food services, intramural sports, recruitment, and parent relations. He was a member of the judicial Board and vice president of the Interfraternal Council. Brother Dixon has recently accepted to Point Park University MBA program.
Joe Gallo, Gamma Chi ’12 (Michigan Technological University). Joe graduated this past May with a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering with an overall GPA of 3.08. He served as chapter president, vice president of membership, and new member educator for his chapter. He is the recent recipient of the Gamma Chi “Man of the Year” award. Joe has held leadership positions as the student event planner for the Student Activities Office, a resident assistant, and an orientation team leader. Brother Gallo recently accepted the position as an engineer for Dow Corning. One of his main career objectives is to do something he loves with people he enjoys being around.
Mark Mauer, Jr., Phi ’12 (Southeastern Louisiana University). Mark graduated this May with a degree in finance and an overall GPA of 3.25. He served as president, vice president of membership, vice president of finance, treasurer and chairman of the judicial board, ritual, alumni relations, and Founders’ Day for his chapter. He was the Interfraternity Council secretary and the Phi Chapter delegate. Mark has been presented the Phi Chapter “Man of the Year”, Distinguished Service and Brotherhood awards. Within the next five years, Mark hopes to become a chapter advisor for the Phi Chapter. Brother Mauer starts his career as a financial advisor for Mauer Financial Group, LLC.
Alexander Williams, Delta Alpha ’12 (East Carolina University). Alex graduated this past May with a degree in criminal justice with an overall GPA of 3.07. He served as one of the re-Founding Fathers, chapter president and vice president of finance. Recipient of the 2011 Stan Musial and Erik Hillman Sportsmanship Award, Alex was a member of the East Carolina cheerleading squad and club wrestling team. He was a part of the Residence Hall Association, Student Government Association and a life long brother of the Boy Scouts of America, having received the rank of Eagle Scout. Brother Williams recently accepted the position of chapter development counselor for the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters.
