INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Sigma Tau Gamma proudly announces six gentlemen as inductees into the 2022 Noble Man Hall of Fame. Each Hall of Fame member is now a finalist for the Ellsworth C. Dent Man of the Year – one of the highest honors an undergraduate member can achieve. This June, each of these men will be honored as a Hall of Fame inductee and Dent Man of the Year Finalist.

Get to know each of the 2022 Noble Man Hall of Fame inductees. Congratulations to all six of these noble men!

Ryan Helms, UNC Charlotte

“Ryan has grown during his Fraternity experience and understands the standards of the new generation of Noble Men of Sigma Tau Gamma. Brother Dent would certainly have been proud of Ryan, and he is a deserving candidate for consideration of being recognized as one of our Dent Finalists.”

Initiated into the Epsilon Tau Chapter in 2019, Helms majored in economics, graduating with a 3.56grade point average (GPA). He held multiple roles, finally ascending to chapter president in November 2020. While chapter president, he also served the student body at UNC Charlotte as a senator for the Belk College of Business in student government. Finally, he has volunteered countless hours at Shining Hope Farms and Special Olympics since 2019.

Truman Lauck, Nebraska Kearney

“Overall, Truman is one of the finest students and individuals I have had the privilege of working with at UNK. His bubbly demeanor defines his leadership style, allowing him to remain optimistic… and his authenticity makes him an exceptional leader.”

After being initiated in 2018, Lauck has held multiple positions for the Beta Chi Chapter and as a student leader at Nebraska Kearney. He served the chapter as a new member educator, social media coordinator, director of education and wellness, and president. He also served as a student senator and was elected to IFC President and Order of Omega President. Lauck plans to give back to his community and the next generation as a middle school teacher, aspiring to become a principal. He says that the Principle of Learning has guided him through his undergraduate career and has left a lasting impact on his life.

Peter Marra, Carroll

“Peter is a model Noble Man and has shown a great example for fraternal brotherhood the last four years. Peter embodies many qualities of what it means to be a Sig Tau for life and uses his time, talent, and effort to make the Carroll community the best it can be.”

Peter Marra was initiated into the then Zeta Phi Associate Chapter at Carroll in 2018 and has held multiple positions, including serving on the standards board, director of recruitment, and finally as chapter president. He also worked as a fraternity and sorority life staff member for Carroll and is a student-athlete, competing on the track and field team. He received the Stan Musial and Eric Hillman Sportsmanship Award and is a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) All-American. After graduation, he plans to continue his education and earn a doctorate in physical therapy.

Brock Sherwin, Northeastern State

“Brock embodies the six Principles of Sigma Tau Gamma and engages himself on campus, consistently looking for ways in which he can interact with all of his members and our campus community. Working with Brock has been a joy of mine, and I look forward to seeing what Brock will accomplish once he graduates.”

Brock has been committed to leadership and the Zeta Chapter since 2018. He has served as alumni relations coordinator, homecoming coordinator, director of finance and operations, and chapter president. He has also volunteered in the greater Tahlequah area at the American Legion Post 135, Special Olympics Oklahoma, and as the American Society of Safety Professionals President. Brock has maintained a 3.47 GPA, majoring in environmental health and safety management. after graduation, he plans on moving to Tulsa and working in his family’s health and safety consulting business. 

Nathan Yamaguchi, Alabama

“Through his involvement as a student leader on campus, Nathan has demonstrated an incredible skill at balancing a wide array of interests and talents. Nathan has always stood out among his peers and possesses wisdom and maturity far beyond his years.”

Maintaining a 3.56 GPA as a mechanical engineer major, Nathan Yamaguchi has been involved at the highest level of student leadership at Alabama. Since his initiation in 2018, he has served as chapter president, new member educator for IFC, deputy chief of staff, and chief of staff in student government. He has served over 100 hours of community service in the Tuscaloosa area, was named to the national society of collegiate scholars, and to the 108th class of Jasons Men’s Honorary Society. After graduation, Yamaguchi plans to continue his education at the Manderson School of Business at Alabama.

Andrew “Drew” Youngstrom, Michigan Tech.

“Through trials and hardships, Brother Andrew Youngstrom has been a character that many Sig Taus have looked up to, as well as members of the Greek community at Michigan Tech. A humble and caring person, Brother Youngstrom is most deserving of this prestigious award.”

Andrew Youngstrom was initiated into the Gamma Chi Chapter in 2018 and has served on the executive cabinet for the last three years. First as director of finance and operations, then as chapter president, and once again as director of finance and operations. He also served the campus community as IFC President and was named the Outstanding Fraternity Man Scholarship recipient at Michigan Tech. He has maintained a 3.72 GPA and plans to work and advance the field of cybersecurity after graduation.
