Warrensburg, MO –  Director of Alumni Engagement, Erik Kahl, UW – La Crosse, has announced he will be departing the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters Staff. Kahl is taking a new position as the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University of Wyoming.

Since joining HQ Staff in March of 2015, Kahl has served in many roles such as the Director of Collegiate Services, as well as the Director of Alumni Engagement.  His many responsibilities over the years include working with the collegiate members and their chapters, coaching calls, chapter programming, forming the advisory network and teams, and working with alumni associations.

 “As my time draws to a close, I can look back fondly at my time at Headquarters. Rather than quantifying my time by counting meetings, hours traveled, or emails, I would rather think about the chapters and members served,” Kahl reflected. “My departure is bittersweet; however, I am leaving knowing I have done what I could since joining (at the time) a small staff in March 2015, and lead each day with integrity, citizenship, and brotherhood. I remain a brother and for that, will remain involved. “

Kahl received a Master’s of Education in Higher Education/Student Affairs from Iowa State and he looks forward to being back on a college campus to lead the fraternity and sorority community.

His journey with Sig Tau is not over. Kahl says that he looks forward to the times ahead – only in a different capacity.

As Kahl reflected on his time at Sig Tau, he expressed, “the last several years have been filled with fond positive memories of chapter retreats, stronger chapter relations, troubleshooting, chartering ceremonies, officer coaching calls, alumni stories, and insurmountable energy at our conferences and events, – all of which are tiring at times, but more importantly, rewarding and fulfilling. Thank you to all for being a part of my Headquarters journey.”

“Erik has been a true asset these last few years. His knowledge of Sigma Tau Gamma and his connections to Greek advisors, alumni, and undergraduates have been so valuable. It is never easy to lose such a valuable member of the team, but when it is for a great position like the one at Wyoming it makes his departure bittersweet. No goodbye for us, I look forward to his continued involvement as a volunteer and know that he will continue to have an impact on Sig Tau for years to come,” commented Sigma Tau Gamma CEO Steve Latour.

Kahl’s last day at Headquarters is September 26, 2017.
