INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – “Ironically, I never thought I would become a fraternity man, but here I am” – Dallas Butler, Cincinnati

How many of you have heard the same sentiment, or even resonate with it on a personal level? But conversely, how many of you would now even proudly profess what Dallas Butler also had to articulate, “My fraternity experience has made me a better man, a more confident leader, and a more successful student.”

Each undergraduate member, veteran alumni, and dedicated volunteer and staff member has a unique Sig Tau story that has led to them to where they are in their journey within the organization.

The pull that brought all 61,000 living alumni and 3,100 undergraduate members into the fold of Sig Tau is vastly different for everyone. One may have joined for the social aspect, or possibly a desire to give back to their community, or maybe a need for a bond of brotherhood.

However, all of the reasons have one common connection – none of their stories would have taken shape if it wasn’t for the support of the Sig Tau Foundation.

Dallas Butler who has served his chapter in a multitude of roles, including Standards Board Member, Director of Recruitment, and now as Chapter President, is also a proud member of the Azure & White Undergraduate Giving Club.

When asked why he made the decision to support the Foundation even as an undergraduate, he replied, “I am honored to be able to be part of the Azure and White Undergraduate Giving Club. I wanted to support the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation because I see how impactful it has been in my life and I want it to change someone else’s life too. I hope it gives someone a chance to experience something that Sig Tau has to offer. Knowing that it can impact someone for the better, that means the world to me.”

Dallas knows first-hand the transformative impact the Foundation’s support of national programs can have. The first program he attended was Grand Conclave Phoenix in 2018 where he served as a Voting Delegate for his chapter. “It was such a great and beautiful experience! It motivated me to want to make a change; to not stick to the rut of everyday life,” Dallas said. “I was able to meet so many other Sig Taus and to learn how they stay motivated and how they lead and inspire their chapters. Being able to speak with all brothers that are undergraduates or who have graduated helped me get a better perspective on how to be a more successful brother.”

Because of the life-changing educational experiences made possible by the Sig Tau Foundation, Dallas is confident that his upcoming graduation is not the end of his Sig Tau journey. “The experiences that I have had will always be with me. I know when I look back on my life, I will be beyond thankful for the day that I accepted my bid. Sig Tau is continually shaping me as a leader and I know it will continue on for many years after college. My brothers are my family and family is forever. I know for my whole entire life Sig Tau will be part of who I am.”
