Kayla Hagerty Departs Staff Leaving a Lasting Impact on WPN Housing
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters announces the Director of WPN Housing Operations, Kayla Hagerty, Sigma Kappa, is departing staff.
Kayla joined the professional staff as the Director of WPN Housing Operations in July 2018. Kayla received her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality & Food Management from Ball State University and her Master of Education Degree in College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University.
In her four years on staff, Kayla was instrumental in creating lasting relationships with undergraduates, helping them understand the impact of housing on the fraternity experience, and securing housing for multiple chapters.
Because of Kayla, the Epsilon Chi Chapter at Auburn, Beta Theta Chapter at Purdue, Delta Alpha Chapter at East Carolina, Zeta Pi Chapter at Arizona, Beta Alpha Chapter at Missouri, Zeta Omicron Chapter at Michigan State, and the Psi Chapter at Central Michigan all have housing accommodations.
Also, under her direction, WPN secured its first owned property, the Alpha Omega Chapter house at Missouri S&T.
Chief Executive Officer Buz Barlow, UW – Oshkosh, said Kayla’s impact will be felt for years as WPN Housing continues to evolve.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Kayla as a national volunteer and as a professional staff member, and the impact she has had on Sig Tau is significant. Sig Tau will miss her outside-the-box thinking, her calmness in every situation, and her ability to build relationships with chapters.”
Kayla said that over the last four years, she has experienced many personal and professional milestones and always felt welcomed from the first day.
“I’m so thankful for the opportunity to serve the men of Sigma Tau Gamma and lead WPN National Housing Company over the last four years. During this time, I have built amazing relationships with undergrads, alumni, staff, and national volunteers that have welcomed me and helped Sig Tau endeavor through some critical times. I’m so proud of the WPN chapters – from gaining properties like Western Michigan, Missouri S&T, and Missouri to supporting them in partnerships with universities like Arizona State and Alabama to helping everyone navigate COVID. Through my work and time at Sig Tau, I hope the members felt supported and knew they had a reliable person to answer their questions, provide guidance, and always get back to them.”
Kayla’s last day is September 30, 2022.
