Insurance and Member Safety

The best fraternal experience possible means, first and foremost, that chapters and chapter members are safe.  All members of Sigma Tau Gamma are expected to comply with the member safety and wellness policies of the National Fraternity and their university when hosting events and activities.

Member Safety and Wellness Policy

Member Safety Fees
Each chapter and associate chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma is required to maintain proper insurance coverage and does so by billing members an annual Member Safety Fee. The Member Safety Fee includes standard fraternity chapter liability insurance, the Member Action Protection Program (MAPP), and other costs associated with remaining insured. The annual Member Safety Fee amount is reflected in the National Dues and Fees letter sent to each chapter prior to the start of the fall semester.

Member Action Protection Program (MAPP)
Members of collegiate chapters are eligible for additional coverage for injuries or accidents that occur with, or away from, the chapter. While the MAPP acts as secondary coverage and does not include coverage for disease or illness, members seeking additional assistance for an accident or injury may complete and submit the Member Action Protection Program form.

Read more about the MAPP on page eight of the Insurance and Claim Manual.
