CEO Emeritus William P. (Bill) Bernier, Kent State ‘70, was elected to a two year term on the NIC Board of Directors. The election occurred on April 20, at the NIC Annual Meeting in Kansas City. Eight interfraternity leaders serve on the NIC Board.
Communications & Merchandise Coordinator, Elissa Huck, has announced her departure from the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters Staff. She departs the staff to accept a Public Relations position with Black Twig Communications in St. Louis, MO.
Collegiate Services Coordinator, Austin Uebelhor, Gamma Phi ’11, has announced his departure from the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters Staff. He departs the staff to accept a position as a Research Assistant with the Indiana University Center for Aging Research in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Sigma Tau Gamma conducted the Ceremony of Initiation at the University of Nevada, Reno on April 11, 2015. The Reno Provisional Chapter initiated 16 new members. This is the first time Sigma Tau Gamma has had a provisional chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Sigma Tau Gamma conducted the Ceremony of Installation at William Woods University on April 1, 2015. The William Woods provisional chapter associated 12 new members. Later in the semester, the chapter will welcome family, friends, students, and university administrators to join them for a reception and introduction to campus. This is the first time Sigma Tau Gamma has had a provisional chapter at William Woods University.
Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity welcomes Erik Kahl as its new Director of Member and Organizational Development. He will oversee collegiate services, leadership programming, and member safety and wellness.
On Sunday, March 15, the Theta Chapter at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri held their Re-Chartering Ceremony, welcoming 33 brothers into Sigma Tau Gamma. There were more than 90 people in attendance at the Re-Chartering Ceremony, including Theta Chapter Alumni and more than two dozen parents and family members.
On Saturday, February 28, National President, Alyx Parker presented a charter to 54 members of the Epsilon Omega Chapter at the Florida Institute of Technology. Florida Tech. is the 144th chapter charted in the 95-year history of Sigma Tau Gamma.
Director of Expansion Derek Kaimann, Beta ’09, has announced his departure from the Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters Staff.
Kaimann joined the Headquarters staff in 2011 as an Expansion Counselor, and from 2011-2013 co-led recruitment efforts for many of the most successful expansions in the Fraternity’s history. During his time as an expansion Counselor, Kaimann helped lead on-campus recruitment efforts at UNC Charlotte, Florida Tech, Winona State, Purdue, Illinois, Alabama, Auburn, Carnegie Mellon, and Oklahoma State.
Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that will harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support and help create a better world.
On Saturday, November 1, more than a dozen brothers in the Chicago area gathered along with National President Alyx Parker, Illinois ’97, Foundation Chairman Tom Janicki, Carnegie Mellon ‘74, and the Fraternity’s Board of Directors to present Bill Bernier, Kent State ’71, with his official portrait. The portrait was commissioned by the Fraternity’s Board of Directors and will be displayed at the Marvin Millsap Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters in Warrensburg, Missouri.
