2012 Ellsworth C. Dent “Man of the Year” Finalists Announced

Josh Argast, Alpha Phi ’12 (Southeast Missouri State University). Josh graduated this past May with a degree in construction management and an overall 3.92 GPA. He served as chapter president, alumni relations and homecoming chairman for his chapter. Josh stays active on the Southeast Missouri State University campus as a student leader in the Student Government Association, Homecoming Planning Committee and is the student representative to the University Foundation Board of Directors. Brother Argust recently accepted a position as an Associate Facilities Specialist for Ameren Corporation in St. Louis, Mo.

Sigma Tau Gamma to Expand to Auburn University

During the fall 2012 semester, Sigma Tau Gamma will expand to the Auburn University campus. Sig Tau has never previously had a chapter at Auburn.

“Sigma Tau Gamma is very excited for the opportunity to expand to Auburn University,” says Michael Smoll, Sigma Tau Gamma Director of Expansion. “This fall will be an exciting time as the Fraternity continues to expand across the southeast United States to another highly regarded Host Institution.”

The Purpose of Sigma Tau Gamma, which is defined in Article 1 of our Constitution, is to “promote the highest ideals of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship.”

Perhaps our brothers who most exemplify the accomplishment of our ideals are the brothers who now serve, and have served, our nation in the armed forces. We all rise in pursuit of these ideals when we honor not only our brothers, who served, but also all men and women who protect our freedoms with their service.

Staff Prepares for Fall 2012 Expansion to the University of Alabama

The Sigma Tau Gamma Expansion team is visiting Tuscaloosa this week to prepare for its upcoming expansion project to the University of Alabama.

“Sigma Tau Gamma is excited to become part of one of the leading fraternity and sorority communities in the country,” said Director of Expansion Michael Smoll. “This fraternity and sorority community is unique because of its long and rich history of students seeking to affiliate with a Greek organization, which is reflected in the impressive chapter sizes.”
