Christopher J. Mauer Man-Mile Award

The Christopher J. Mauer Man-Mile Award had been presented annually for roughly 40 years before it was given an official title. On June 9, 2008, the Fraternity Board of Directors voted to name the award in honor of 34th National President, Chris Mauer, Southeastern Louisiana ‘86.

This posthumous honor was especially appropriate for Brother Mauer as recruiting brothers to attend meetings was his passion. In the months before national meetings, he worked tirelessly to contact and visit as many chapters as possible. He would tell each member of the “Brotherhood Experience” that shouldn’t be missed! He lived for this interaction with members and loved to teach others about his experience in Sig Tau.

The award recipient is the chapter who best embodies Mauer’s passion for program attendance, and sends the most members, the furthest distance, to attend the summer conference.
